About Me
Graduating with a Biology degree from Florida International University in 2013, I began my career in forensic science as a serologist at DNA Labs International. In this role, I performed critical forensic analyses and even stepped into the courtroom as an expert witness to help solve complex criminal cases—think CSI, but without the dramatic music. A few years later, I transitioned to R&D at Xymogen, where I contributed to the development of dietary supplements and established a robust stability program that adhered to stringent industry standards.
Collaborating with software teams and laboratory systems over the years sparked my passion for technology. This led me to pursue a second bachelor’s in Computer Science at the University of Florida, where I’m set to graduate in May 2025 with a 3.8 GPA.
I’ve since gained hands-on experience as a Software Engineering Intern at UKG, where I contributed to the development of dynamic Angular components, resolved UI defects, and enhanced software reliability through automated test development. This Spring, I'm excited to be returning to UKG for a second internship, this time as part of their mobile development team!
Outside of work and school, you’ll find me outdoors enjoying nature, planning my next travel adventure, or channeling my inner panda 🐼—nap, eat, repeat (the perfect cycle).
As graduation approaches, I’m excited to bring my unique blend of professional experiences and technical expertise to a role where I can craft intuitive applications, tackle complex challenges, and create solutions that make life a little brighter.
Experience

Software Engineer Intern • UKG • Present
As an iOS developer in the UKG Pro Mobile App team, I help enhance a leading human capital and workforce management solution by developing intuitive features, optimizing app performance, and ensuring smooth integration between backend systems and the mobile interface.

Software Engineer Intern • UKG • 4 months
Collaborated with an Agile team of six engineers in developing the UKG Pro Benefits Hub, a centralized benefits enrollment solution designed to serve millions of users. Played a key role in enhancing the user experience by building user-facing features, fixing UI defects and ensuring software quality through regression tests and development of automated tests with Nightwatch.

Stability Coordinator • Xymogen • 4 years, 7 months
At Xymogen, I spearheaded the Stability Coordinator role, expanding the program by 180%. I analyzed product degradation trends to back shelf-life claims and ensure product quality. I also worked closely with the R&D team on supplement formulations, wrote detailed protocols, and supported lab investigations.

Forensic Serologist • DNA Labs International • 2 years, 8 months
At DLI, I conducted serological testing and microscopy to analyze evidence from crime scenes, including blood, body fluids, and hair. I performed DNA extraction, purification, and PCR amplification for the development of DNA profiles. I also collaborated with law enforcement on forensic casework and testified as an expert witness in DNA extraction.
